Kitchen Prep/Line Cook

Job Description

Wolfden Brewing Company is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time line/prep cook position. We are looking for team members who have at least 1 year kitchen experience in a fast paced kitchen and have a passion for food and craft beer.

Responsibilities:

  • Prep food items each shift before hours of operation
  • Efficiently and accurately prepare all menu items as trained, making sure each dish is up to our standards, as well as the Illinois Food Safety standards
  • Maintain a sanitized and organized kitchen at all times
  • Follow FIFO (first in first out) procedures for all food items, labeling and dating every item
  • Maintain a cleanly & professional appearance and positive attitude
  • At the end of each shift, make sure all food items are in stock and inform management if running low
  • Make sure kitchen is fully cleaned before leaving shift
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills

Experience:

  • 1 year minimum prep/line experience in a fast-moving environment
  • 1 year serving experience preferred

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/ GED
  • BASSET certified preferred, will provide class if needed
  • IL Food Handler Certificate
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule: days, nights, holidays and weekends
  • Must be 21

Job Type: Part-time

Bartender/Server

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledgeable about beer / beer industry
  • Ensuring that our guests feel welcomed, are well informed about beer choices and are served quickly and efficiently Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude. Answer questions and educate guests about Wolfden, local breweries and beer in general *This includes: color, clarity, carbonation, head retention, aroma, mouthfeel/body, flavors, finish
  • Suggesting beers to guests based on their preferences
  • Staying updated on beer lists, hop profiles and menu items
  • Promote other items we offer for sale, as well as upcoming events
  • Maintain comfort & cleanliness throughout the tap room, cooler, restrooms, kitchen and beer garden
  • Prepare food orders
  • Ensure the tap room, counters, sinks, dishes, coolers, shelving and storage areas are clean and comply with established sanitation standards
  • Able to assist with brewery operations occasionally
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills

Experience:

  • Beer industry experience- please do not apply if you are not knowledgeable about beer
  • Bartending or serving experience
  • Prior customer service or sales experience
  • Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $18.00 – $45.00 per hour on average after tips
